In the past, I was intrigued by tattooing and the ways in which women have used tattoo as an art form. Tattoos are a permanent addition to the body and thus require a strength of commitment that must overcome social stereotyping. In my sculpture, I utilize media which are symbolic of human skin and are transformed through the use of machinery.
